Have You Fallen Off The Health Wagon? Here's How To Get Back On Track.

Have you been finding it hard to stay consistent with your health lately?
Maybe you've been meaning to eat better, move more or take better care of yourself... but life has had other plans.
Perhaps you've been eating more sweet foods than you'd like, going to bed later than you want, or maybe your body has been feeling stiffer and achier than it used to.
Or it could be that you've been so busy looking after everyone and everything else that you've had little time to focus on yourself.
If any of this sounds like you...
You're not alone.
Every week I receive emails from women all around the world who tell me they want to feel healthier, happier and more like themselves again...
But somehow life has simply got in the way.
Maybe you've been dealing with…
- Pressure and stress at work
- Navigating health challenges
- Dealing with perimenopause or menopause
- Caring for immediate or extended family members
- Simply feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by the world at the moment
It’s been a crazy few years, hasn’t it?
It can be so easy to focus on other things. Before we know it, weeks, months and even years have slipped by.
Here are two emails that landed in my inbox.
I wonder if you'll recognise yourself in one of them?
One came from a woman in South Africa:
"Dear Katrina, I've been so up and down lately that I still feel lost and like there is no solution. I was going to start a new, pretty extreme diet today... but then you popped into my mind with your balanced approach to health and I stopped in my tracks.
I have put on weight recently and I feel so yuck! Also, I just can't seem to move forward with my life... be it music, yoga, my health, relationships, spirituality or finances. It seems that every area of my life is upside down."
Another came from Australia:
"Hi Katrina, sorry I haven't been in touch. I've just been feeling a bit flat lately and seem to have drifted away from healthy eating. Isn't it funny... when I'm feeling that way, I also tend to avoid making contact with people."
Can you relate?
Perhaps you've been feeling frustrated with yourself.
Maybe you've been thinking:
- I know what I should be doing.
- I'll start again on Monday.
- I've blown it now.
If that's you, I want you to know something.
You can shift your focus back to your health right now.
You don't have to change everything overnight.
You can start by taking a deep breath in... Then slowly breathe out. Allow your nervous system to settle. Then ask yourself:
"What's one nice thing I can do for myself today?"
Let go of the hundred things you think you should, or shouldn't, be doing.
Instead, choose one small baby step you can take right now.
Maybe it's making your next meal a colourful one. Perhaps it's being a little kinder to yourself today, starting a meditation practice or taking a few moments to stretch your body.
There's something quite magical about taking that first step.
It creates momentum, and one small baby step soon leads to another.
Before you know it, you'll be feeling healthier, happier and more like yourself again.
From my heart to yours
Love Katrina xo ❤️
